Henry J. Fieldman has over forty years of experience in litigation and in domestic and international arbitration. His arbitration experience includes serving as an arbitrator as well as representing parties, as lead counsel, in arbitrations administered, for example, by the American Arbitration Association, International Chamber of Commerce, and London Court of International Arbitration and involving disputes ranging from about one million dollars to hundreds of millions. He also has extensive litigation experience, representing parties as lead counsel in state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Fieldman appeared for Amicus Curiae in Cole and as lead counsel in each of the other cases.

Mr. Fieldman's experience includes representing American and foreign large and closely held corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, consortia, and individuals. He has represented parties from North and South America, Asia and Europe in litigations and arbitrations in a variety of venues. For example, he defended a European company against corruption charges in a debarment proceeding before the World Bank; he represented an American Company in arbitrations against a Korean Company in New York and in Geneva; he represented that Korean Company in litigations in Montana, Maryland and New York; he represented an American individual in an arbitration in London against Russian companies; he represented a Canadian company in arbitration in Paris against a French company; he represented a Belgian partnership in an arbitration in Chicago against an Argentine group.

Mr. Fieldman's experience is broad and spans many fields, such as: construction, energy, electric power generation, financial services, health care, investment banking, petro-chemical, public utilities, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, off-shore marine industry, shipping and shipbuilding, and telecommunications among others.

Mr. Fieldman has presented the following continuing legal education programs: Construction Litigation: How To Navigate The Legal Pitfalls On Your Next Project In New York, Moderator, Lorman Seminar, May, 2003; Construction Litigation In New York, Moderator, Lorman Seminar, May, 2002; and Health Care Corporate Compliance Programs In New York, Moderator, Lorman Seminar, January, 2002. He also has presented private client seminars on topics such as Arbitration, Litigation and Litigation Avoidance.

Mr. Fieldman is a member of the Bar of the State of New York; the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, District of Columbia and Federal Circuits; the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of Columbia, and the Central District of Illinois; and the New York State Bar Association (Dispute Resolution Committee).

Mr. Fieldman's career includes: Trial Attorney for the TVA, International Counsel for a billion dollar corporation, founding partner for boutique law firms, head of litigation for a mid-size law firm and Chairperson of the Arbitration and Litigation practice in the New York office of a large international law firm. His education includes: St. John's law School (J.D. 1965); United States Merchant Marine Academy (B.S. 1962); Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law (Columbia University, Summer Program, 1972) and seminars relevant to litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, such as: International Arbitration and Mediation 2008 (Fordham Law School); How to Use Arbitration in Foreign Investment Treaties to Reduce Risk, 2008 (American Bar Association); Securities Arbitration, 2007 (Practicing Law Institute); Ethics and Electronic Discovery, 2007 (Practicing Law Institute); Use of Electric Discovery in Arbitration, 2006 (New York City Bar). He is a recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards in Legal Writing, Civil Practice, Evidence and Commercial Transactions.
